Nai Harn Beach Resort

If I really like a hotel I typically will revisit at some point in the future. In the case of Nai Harn Resort, I’ve stayed on two separate occasions and have extended my stay both times. The proximity to Nai Harn beach, the simplicity and ease of getting into the room (no hassle with a parking garage or long walk from a lobby to your room), the beautiful green surroundings with a nearby lake, and the cost make it a definite win.

What’s good?

  • Very nice and helpful staff. This sets the tone from the start. The owner is super friendly as well as all of the other staff members.
  • Simple but lovely room. Polished concrete floors and nice bathroom.
  • Comfortable bed and decent “black-out” curtains.
  • The location is great as it is right near Nai Harn beach. About 10 minutes walking or one minute by motorbike. Approximately 1 km away.
  • The pool is beautiful.

What could be improved?

  • In the room they provide a desk but no chair. Hopefully you have no need for a desk and chair during your stay. But if you’re taking care of a little work, it causes a hurdle. Solution: I borrowed a chair from the restaurant area and brought it into my room.

Some things to be aware of:

  • There is a little bit of street noise from cars driving by, as it is right on a fairly well-traversed road (Soi Naya).
  • Very comfortable bed, although it would be more comfortable if the “king size” bed was a real king size and not just two doubles pulled together. It’s not a big deal though.
  • Breakfast is not great, so I would recommend going elsewhere for food. There is one place nearby within walking distance with 3 connected restaurants, which serves French, Thai, and western Cuisine. There is also a Mexican restaurant. Other restaurants nearby on the beach, which serve great seafood.
  • If you want to pay a bit more for your breakfast you can go to the Sunsuri hotel, which is just up the road on the way to the beach. Great western buffet.
  • The cleaning staff sometimes have children with them,  who get curios and want to peak inside of the room. So if you are changing or doing anything else that requires privacy, keep the curtains drawn!
